Dialogue for Green Transition – Work Package 1

The Green IT Your Work project officially launched with its inaugural event, “Dialogue for Green Transition,” held between February 26 and March 1, 2024, in Sinaia, Romania. Organized by Asociatia Se Poate, this transnational event brought together 50 participants from 8 European countries, all united by a shared mission: supporting a green and inclusive transition.

Over the course of two days, participants were immersed in an engaging agenda that combined strategic planning with interactive learning. The first full day kicked off with a warm welcome and registration session, followed by a comprehensive project briefing. Discussions highlighted the management structure, goals, work packages, and upcoming milestones. In collaboration with the Sinaia Town Hall, participants explored local green policies and practices, enriching the European dialogue with community-level insights.

The afternoon session on February 27 introduced best practices in sustainability and a deep dive into Work Package 1, coordinated by the Romanian team. Between sessions, attendees had opportunities for informal exchanges and cultural exploration, including a group lunch and a social dinner that encouraged networking in a relaxed setting.

The second day focused on an Open Debate, where EU frameworks like the European Skills Agenda and the Green Deal were presented and critically discussed. These were followed by interactive role-playing games designed to simulate green transition scenarios. Through forum theatre, participants experienced first-hand the challenges and decisions involved in ecological policy-making. Later in the day, participants visited historic landmarks like Bran Castle, Peleș, and Știrbei Palaces—offering both cultural enrichment and reflection on environmental preservation.

This event not only facilitated knowledge-sharing but also strengthened the sense of European cooperation among youth. The presence of gender-balanced delegations and representatives from various NGOs ensured inclusivity and representation throughout the process.

As the group parted ways on March 1, the foundation for long-term collaboration was set. The Green IT Your Work project moves forward with renewed energy, driven by the ideas and enthusiasm shared during this inaugural gathering.
