Youth Participation 360, an inspiring Erasmus+ Youth Exchange, brought together young people from across Europe in the beautiful setting of Bansko. The project created a dynamic space where participants didn’t just talk about youth participation—they experienced it firsthand through interactive learning, collaboration, and creativity.

From day one, the energy was high. Participants dove into ice-breakers and team-building activities that quickly transformed a group of strangers into a supportive international community. By the end of the day, everyone felt more connected, confident, and ready to contribute.

On the second day, the group explored the world of non-formal education and the Erasmus+ framework. Through engaging workshops like “Youth Participation Unlocked,” participants debated what participation really means and why so many young people hesitate to get involved. The introduction of Youthpass added a reflective layer, encouraging everyone to think about their personal learning journey.

Day three shifted the focus to real-life experiences across Europe. Participants shared how youth participation looks in their home countries, uncovering common challenges such as limited opportunities and weak communication with decision-makers. The highlight was the Power Mapping workshop, where participants learned how influence works and how to identify key actors who shape decisions.

The fourth day expanded the perspective to the European level. Through discussions on initiatives like the EU Youth Dialogue, participants critically examined how young people’s voices are represented in policy-making. The day also allowed space for informal moments, strengthening friendships and group cohesion.

Leadership and impact took center stage on day five. In the session “From Help to Influence,” participants explored the difference between volunteering and advocacy, discovering the importance of addressing root causes rather than just symptoms. Creativity flourished as teams began producing digital content—videos, messages, and stories—to promote youth participation.

Day six was all about action. During the “Changemakers Lab,” participants used design thinking to turn ideas into concrete projects. Each team developed clear plans with goals, timelines, and expected impact, proving that great ideas can become real change when structured effectively.
The final day focused on what comes next. In the “Participation Pathway” workshop, participants created personal action plans to bring their ideas back home. The experience ended on a meaningful note with the Youthpass ceremony and heartfelt reflections.
A Lasting Impact
Youth Participation 360 was more than just a project—it was a journey. By combining discussions, hands-on activities, and collaboration, participants gained a deeper understanding of how to actively engage in society. They didn’t just learn about participation—they practiced it, shaped it, and left ready to make a difference.
In the end, the project highlighted a simple but powerful message: when young people are informed, empowered, and connected, they can play a key role in shaping their communities and the future.
